Mens Pirate Costume – Look Great for the Halloween Party
Pirate costumes are very suitable to replicate as they are made from clothing items usually found in an man’s closet. Here is a step by step guide in making your
1.Prepare the outfit.
a. Find a long sleeved white collared shirt. If it has a ruffled front, then that is better to use. But if not, a typical white, button down shirt will do.
b. Look for a vest. A long vest that reaches your buttocks area is perfect.
c. Look for a sash that you can tie around your waist. The sash has to be long enough so that when you tie it on your person, you still have some fabric left dangling over.
d. Plain black pants will do.
e. Black pirate boots will do. If you can find black top fold boots, then those are perfect.
2. Prepare the accessories.
a. A hoop clip on earring.
b. Big chunky man bracelets and man necklaces.
c. Bandana
d. Belt
3. Prepare your make up. An eyeliner pencil and some dark eye shadow will do the trick. Borrow some from your friends.
4. After preparing, if there are items that you cannot find readily, search for these via thrift stores, garage sales, or through internet shops. These routes will save you loads of money instead of buying directly from department stores.
5. Once you have everything complete, try the costume on.
a. Wear the shirt first. Leave the first 2-3 buttons undone.
b. Wear the pants and tuck the tail of the shirt inside.
c. Wear the vest.
d. Tie the sash around your waist, with the vest inside the sash.
e. Place the belt over the sash.
f. Slip on the boots, with the pants slipped inside the boots’ calf area.
g. Tie the bandana over your head.
6. Complete the look by asking a friend to copy Jack Sparrow’s make up in the Pirates of the Caribbean.
7. Learn some pirate catch phrases like: “Aye!” or “Hoho and some bottle of rhum!”
So go ahead and follow these easy steps so you can have your very own, home made, men pirate costume. If may not be as flashy as a $200 costume but it will definitely be as sexy, especially if you are able to pull off a perfect Johnny Depp impression with your Captain Jack Sparrow attire.
